The short version

We collect only what's needed to run the game. We never sell or rent your data. You can delete everything anytime.

Dirty Chains CTP ("the App") is a disc golf scorekeeper for closest-to-pin (CTP) side games. This policy describes how Lazy Dog Apps LLC collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the App on iOS, Android, or the web.

1 — Information we collect

We collect only what's needed to run the App:

  • Account information — display name, email address, and user ID when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email. If you continue as a guest, we store only an anonymous identifier.
  • Profile photo — optional, uploaded by you and stored in Firebase Storage.
  • Gameplay data — round scores, hole results, wager amounts, course names, and related statistics, used to show leaderboards, achievements, and round history.
  • Friends list — user IDs and display names of friends you add.
  • PDGA number — optional, stored only if you add it to your profile.
  • Device information — we do not collect IP addresses, location data, or any advertising identifier.

2 — How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To track scores, stats, and achievements during and after rounds
  • To display leaderboards and friend comparisons (Premium feature)
  • To enable QR-code friend connections
  • To send local notifications about round events (with your permission)

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

3 — Third-party services

  • Firebase Authentication (Google) — sign-in via Apple, Google, or email/password
  • Cloud Firestore (Google) — storing game data and user profiles
  • Firebase Storage (Google) — profile photo uploads
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never receive or store your payment information.

Google services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Data is stored in the United States.

4 — Data sharing

Your display name, profile photo, stats, and achievements are visible to other players on leaderboards and to your friends. Your email address is never shared with other users.

We do not share, sell, or rent your personal data to any third party for marketing or advertising.

5 — Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the App, or by request without using the App. Account deletion permanently removes your profile and credentials, all round history and statistics, your friends list (and removes you from others' lists), your profile photo, and your leaderboard entry.

6 — Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

7 — Security

We use Firebase Security Rules to restrict database access to authenticated users and enforce per-user data boundaries. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so use the App at your own risk.

8 — Subscriptions and Free Trial

The App offers a free trial and two subscription tiers:

  • Free trial (14 days) — full Premium access, no payment required. After it ends you move to the free tier unless you subscribe.
  • Free version (after trial) — completely ad-free. You keep core scoring (create/join rooms, all hole types, locked pots, running scores, summary, text sharing) plus a basic profile with your last 3–5 rounds.
  • Premium Monthly ($2.99/month) — unlocks leaderboards, friends and head-to-head stats, all 50 achievements, full round history, course stats, share-as-image recap cards, spectator mode, theme selection, and PDGA number.
  • Premium Annual ($24.99/year — save 30%) — same as Monthly at a discounted annual rate.

Subscriptions auto-renew and are processed by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details. Cancel anytime in your device's subscription settings; access continues through the end of the billing period. Refund requests go to Apple or Google per their policies.

Dirty Chains CTP is completely ad-free. We use no ad networks, analytics SDKs, or tracking pixels of any kind.

Not gambling. Dirty Chains CTP is a scorekeeper only. The App does not process, hold, or transfer any money. Wager amounts are scorekeeping entries between friends — the App simply tracks who owes whom. No real-money transactions occur through the App, and any settlement happens between players, outside the App.

9 — AI-assisted development

Portions of this application were developed with the assistance of AI tools (Claude by Anthropic) for writing code, generating documentation, and drafting these legal documents. All AI-generated content has been reviewed and approved by the developer. The App's functionality, data handling, and business logic remain under human oversight and control.

10 — Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted here with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
